Studie-Ringen: On the Text of The Ring of the Nibelung

Description

An informal introduction to Wagner's great work - third hour Come along and prepare for the great opera event of our time! We invite everyone to a free Studie-Ring with Wagner translator Eve-Marie Lund. This time the theme is the text of The Ring of the Nibelung. Buy How to prepare for the Ring It is happening - soon! In January 2027 the starting signal is given for Richard Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung at Den Norske Opera & Ballett. In the years 2027–2029 it will leave its mark on the Opera, our opera country and those of us who live here. The soloists sing Wagner in the rehearsal rooms and the workshops are building Valhalla, but how do we as an audience prepare for this great event in Norwegian opera history? When the world is at stake You do not need to know a lot to enjoy The Ring of the Nibelung. The story and the music grip you directly. Still: with more insight the experience becomes even richer - and even more fun. For the Ring is more than a saga about gods and heroes. It is a story about a world in change. About power, desire and collapse. About questions that concern us too - historical, mythological, philosophical and existential. Third hour - on the text The Studie-Ringen runs over several years. You can come once or many times. No registration. No exam. Previously we have held a study circle where we asked the question: What is the deal with The Ring of the Nibelung, really? This is available as a podcast under Operaen på øret. On 10 November we invite you to a circle about the music - and on 24 November we focus on the text, with Eve-Marie Lund in conversation with Hedda Høgåsen-Hallesby. Eve-Marie Lund is a translator and poetic adapter, and has a very special relationship with Wagner's The Ring of the Nibelung. She has worked with the work for several decades, among other things in the form of a complete Norwegian adaptation of Wagner's text. This evening you will also hear excerpts with mezzo-soprano Astrid Norstad and pianist and head of studies Boris Schäfer.
