Description
Music by Olav Anton Thommessen and his teacher Iannis Xenakis. The programme centres on Olav Anton Thommessen's work Maldoror (1974) for four percussionists and two reciters, with text by Isidore Ducasse de Comte de Lautrémont (1868). The concert will include percussion music by Olav Anton Thommessen and Iannis Xenakis (1922–2001), who was Thommessen's teacher. The concert is part of the celebration of Olav Anton Thommessen's 80th birthday, which culminates in an orchestral concert on Saturday 5 December.
