NMH celebrates Olav Anton Thommessen at 80

Description

NMH celebrates the composer and former professor Olav Anton Thommessen, who turned 80 in May. Thommessen became a lecturer at the Norwegian Academy of Music in 1973, associate professor in 1977 and professor in 1994. During his years at NMH he was a central mentor to a long line of composers who are active in Norwegian musical life today. The programme naturally includes music by Thommessen, but there will also be reminiscing, tributes and belated birthday spirit in honour of the guest of honour. Come along and celebrate a true living composer legend!
