Norges musikkhøgskole
The Norwegian Academy of Music arranges over 400 concerts a year, both at the academy and elsewhere. The concerts feature music students, staff and outside guests. Most of the concerts are classical, but the academy also holds concerts of jazz, folk music, church music, contemporary music and pop.
The Academy of Music has three halls of its own, of which Lindemansalen is the largest, with 365 seats and an impressive organ. Levinsalen has 120 seats and is used mostly for chamber music and solo recitals, and on the third floor you will find the hidden treasure Sandvoldsalen, with a small organ and room for 50 audience members. In addition, the Academy of Music also arranges concerts in many other places, such as Majorstuen kirke, at Kulturhuset, Sentralen and Nasjonal jazzscene, Victoria.
Almost all of the concerts held by the academy are free, and students at all institutions always have free admission. The music students at the Norwegian Academy of Music perform at a high level, and most of the staff have active freelance careers as musicians alongside their teaching jobs.
You can receive a monthly concert newsletter by signing up using the form at nmh.no – where you will also find the complete season programme.
