Oslo Quartet Series: Alle Beethovens strykekvartetter på én helg!
5. nov. - 8. nov.
Oslo
This year it is 250 years since Ludwig van Beethoven was born. We do not want to overlook this; we simply feel it is imperative that an institution like Kvartettserien, on this occasion, shows audiences his perhaps greatest masterpieces, the string quartets.
All 17 of Beethoven's works will be presented over the weekend of 6-8 November by the three Norwegian string quartets: Engegårdkvartetten, Oslo Strykekvartett and Vertavo. This will be a unique opportunity for all quartet lovers in this country, who may never before have been able to enjoy so much Beethoven in such a short time. And it is precisely that opportunity a festival gives: that audiences can calmly find their most listening ’self’, and in this state be able to hear more music and take in more music than if the repertoire were presented over a longer series. Through a dense programme, audiences will have the chance to follow Beethoven's musical development and expression.
Kvartettserien wishes to extend a big thank you to Formuesforvaltning, which has made it possible to carry out this mini-festival.
The Beethoven weekend is part of a larger ten-day festival in collaboration between Det Norske Kammerorkester, Oslo-Filharmonien, Kringkastingsorkestret, Oslo Quartet Series and Den Norske Opera & Ballett.
