Sen Beethoven på 123
12. nov. - 14. nov.
Oslo
På 123 is an annual classical mini-festival marked by closeness and depth, communicated across generations and fields by performers recognised at an international level. - An enriching, knowledge-building and inclusive festival!
The idea behind På 123 is simple: to give outstanding artists the chance to immerse themselves in one composer over three intense days. Children and young people take part in the whole voyage of discovery - both as performers and as audience - and are invited into the music on its own terms.
Ludwig van Beethoven - for the Engegårdkvartetten perhaps the greatest of them all - died on 26 March 1827. In the anniversary year 2027 the quartet marks the 200th anniversary with three classical mini-festivals devoted to Beethoven's early, middle and late periods. World-class musicians come to Oslo to interpret his music, while the Engegårdkvartetten itself performs all of Beethoven's 16 string quartets - a universe of works that for ever created a clear "before" and "after" in music history.
We promise immersion, new perspectives on music you may already know, and discoveries that can surprise even the experienced Beethoven listener. Did you know, for example, that Beethoven also wrote music for a ballet?
This could become Norway's most comprehensive Beethoven undertaking in chamber music in 2027 - with world stars, children and young people, interdisciplinary artistic encounters and strong local roots.
