Juliusesar

Description

Opera performance at Bageriet. Juliusesar is a chamber piece that blurs the boundaries between opera, storytelling theatre and chamber music. The performance is based on George Frideric Handel's opera Giulio Cesare in Egitto and combines the shimmering music of the baroque with subtle electronic sound and newly written texts inspired by William Shakespeare. Two singers and a lute move between the different roles of the opera and portray a concentrated drama about the many faces of love, between mother and son, lovers and siblings. With support from Konstnärsnämnden.
