NOVO Quartet
NOVO Quartet is an up-and-coming Danish-Polish string quartet based in Copenhagen. Founded in 2018, the quartet consists of Kaya Kato Møller and Nikolai Vasili Nedergaard, violin; Daniel Sledzinski, viola; and Signe Ebstrup Bitsch, cello – all students at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen. As an ensemble, they are protégés of Tim Frederiksen, the prior teacher and mentor of the Danish String Quartet and the Nightingale String Quartet. NOVO Quartet recently became the first prize winner of P2 Chamber Music Competition 2020. They also got awarded the Grand Prize of the 2020 ENKOR International Chamber Music Competition. In 2019 they reached the semifinals at Carl Nielsen International Chamber Music Competition. Earlier same year NOVO Quartet won Køge Chamber Music Competition and the Scholarship Competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. The quartet also made its international debut in Shanghai and represented the Royal Danish Academy of Music at the Dutch music and architecture festival Tilburg is Mooi. The string quartet was invited to participate in the Trondheim International Chamber Music Academy 2020 but was unfortunately cancelled due to COVID-19.
