it’s time to breathe
K!ART / Current Resonance
Description
it’s time to breathe again and together. inhaling and exhaling the world. conspiratorial meetings. finding places and islands of time. time for each other; peaceful, silent places for each other. finding ways to say “NO” and “ON”. spending time together—hopeful, without fear Performed for the first time in its entirety, Eva Maria Houben’s cycle, it’s time to breathe, offers both performers and audience sonic islands for contemplation and meditative introspection. The program is complemented by video performances of the Animal Crossing-based Ensemble Uhmm, and opens the festival with an evening of slow and quiet music. The works reflect on our relations to the natural and encourage states of prolonged deep listening. Eva Maria Houben: It’s time to breathe 1-8 [2020] Pan’s Hour - Forlorn Island - Pebbles - Still Alive - Far Off - The Whirlwind’s Bridge - Flutes - Blue The ensemble whose name is uhhhhhmm: Pachelbel's Canyon and other assorted works by us [2020] Performed by Current Resonance [Dylan Richards, Joss Smith, Michael Hope] and K!ART [Rob Durnin, Mikkel Schou, Hsiao-Tung Yuan]. With a curatorial focus on the events as holistic experiences, MINU_festival_for_expanded_music is an initiative for expanding conceptions of music through presenting the unmusical as musical. It is a space for oscillating between extremes and charting relationships between art, technology, and contemporary culture. __________________________________________________________ MINU_festival_for_expanded_music is realised through the kind support of Slots and Kulturstyrelsen, KODA, William Demant, and Dansk Musiker Forbund.
