Duruflé's Requiem

Description

Experience one of the very great works of the choral repertoire. Maurice Duruflé's Requiem is marked by calm and consolation - and filled with hope, light and peace. On stage are approx. 100 young singers from Herning Kirkes Drengekor, MidtVest Pigekor and Ungdomskoret i Silkeborg Kirke. Also taking part are the young, highly trained soloists Mikkel Baungaard Thomsen and Johanne Højlund. The work is performed with organ and a small chamber orchestra under the direction of Asbjørn Damgaard Faleide. Tickets at kr. 150 (kr. 70 for children under 18). More about the work: The French composer and organist Maurice Duruflé (1902-1986) was first performed in 1947 with his Requiem, which is inspired by Gabriel Fauré's Requiem and Gregorian melodies. The music is both grand and marked by calm, consolation and contemplation. Programme: Duruflé / Requiem
