Silkeborg Kirke
Torvet 10E, Silkeborg
Silkeborg parish is a parish in Silkeborg deanery (Århus diocese). Silkeborg Handelsplads was established in 1846. Here Silkeborg parish was created in 1855 with Linå parish as an annex. In 1900 Silkeborg became a market town, and the parish became an independent pastorate. The market town belonged geographically to Gjern Herred in Skanderborg County, and its rural district belonged administratively to the herred. In the municipal reform of 1970 the market town of Silkeborg became the core of Silkeborg Municipality.
