Concert G. Fauré "Requiem"

Description

Experience one of the most beautiful works for choir in music history, when Fauré's “Requiem” is performed in Hellig Kors Kirke as a prelude to All Saints. Fauré's Requiem differs from other requiem masses in its gentle, lyrical melodies, which instil peace and consolation. "Some call my Requiem 'the lullaby of death' and say that it lacks the fear of death," said Fauré. "But I see death as a happy deliverance, a resurrection to joy in the hereafter and not a painful passage." At this concert the work is performed for chamber orchestra and a choir assembled for the day. The concert also includes music by, among others, W. Byrd and J. Rheinberger. Price: 0,-
