Remembering - Actus Tragicus & Evening Hymns

The Baroque Society

Description

A time to pause and remember: Remembering - Actus Tragicus & Evening Hymns is an evening where we look towards light and hope. The baroque ensemble The Baroque Society marks All Saints musically in Gentofte Kirke on 1 November at 16.30. J.S. Bach's iconic cantata Actus Tragicus meets, in this concert, the sounds of today in a newly written commissioned work by the young up-and-coming composer Nick Martin. Experience the world premiere of Remembering, which makes room for remembrance and creates space for a shared hope for the future. The music is performed by The Baroque Society and four star vocal soloists. After the concert the audience is invited to a glass of wine and a shared conversation. The Baroque Society is Copenhagen's baroque ensemble - a charismatic ensemble that wants to make classical concert experiences relevant for new generations. Together they combine the virtuosity and elegance of baroque music with improvisation and visionary programming. For what if some of the most beautiful music in existence has not yet been discovered?
