NEKO3 Festival 2026: ROOTS

NEKO3

Description

PROGRAM Mads Emil Dreyer: Bølger (2014) Jeppe Ernst: Nocturnes (for a human body) (2023) Simon Løffler: Dreamwork, trio version (2018-2024) Jeppe Ernst: Offertorium: Behandling A (2017) Mads Emil Dreyer: Music Box Music (2025) The third concert of the festival celebrates NEKO3’s roots and to the close artistic relationships that have accompanied the ensemble since its creation. The program brings together composers and collaborators who were central to NEKO3’s early years in Copenhagen. The concert highlights NEKO3’s identity as a modular ensemble, capable of shifting fluidly between solo, duo and trio. The solo works are performed by Colombo and Hakosalo themselves, the duets (and the trio) together with their life partners Marta Soggetti and Erica Giacoletto, both of whom are long-standing collaborators of NEKO3. The dramaturgy of the concert follows that of a pyramid: solo-duo-trio-duo-solo. ABOUT NEKO3 FESTIVAL The first edition of the NEKO3 Festival, organized on 5.-6.11.2026, is simultaneously a pre-celebration to the 10th anniversary year of the renowned experimental music ensemble, and the introduction of a new chapter. The festival program intertwines selected highlights from the ensemble’s past with ambitious new collaborations, forming a carefully curated journey that reflects what has shaped NEKO3 and what will define its future. The festival brings together some of the most inspiring collaborators the ensemble has encountered - performers and composers alike - whose ideas and practice have been central to NEKO3’s evolution and who help amplify the ensemble’s mission to expand the possibilities of contemporary performance. Join us for four exciting concerts of contemporary and experimental music, performance art, electronic music, DIY instruments and more! *The festival features two concerts on each of the two nights, with a single ticket granting access to both of the specific evening's concerts, and the festival pass access to all four concerts.
