Piano Concert with Students from the Conservatoire
Description
It will be music from the top shelf of the future when a group of Rikke Sandberg’s piano students take over Kildevældskirken this Sunday. Rikke Sandberg is one of the very greatest pianists of our time, who alongside an international solo career also teaches at the Royal Danish Academy of Music. “They are all super-talented piano students, who at the concert will give examples of their talent. Each of them is currently working towards different projects such as concerts, competitions, entrance exams and auditions. But if it is to succeed, it is all-important that they also get the chance to play for an audience,” says Rikke Sandberg, and continues: “You can be as good as you like in the practice room, but it is out in the concert hall, where contact with the audience and the shared synergy arise, that all the preparation is really put to the test. It is here that you find out what works and what you need to be aware of, and everything we have talked about in the teaching gets put to the test. Without opportunities to perform, the studies would not be worth much.” Admission is free. Text by Bo Nygaard Larsen
