Georg Friedrich Händel: Messiah - Christmas concerts 2026

Description

Let the peace of Christmas descend and get into the Christmas spirit at this year's Christmas concerts, where Odense Barokorkester and Barokkor perform Handel's Messiah. G.F. Handel's magnificent oratorio is performed with an orchestra and choir of the kind Handel might have used. The concerts repeat the well-attended and acclaimed Baroque performances of the masterpiece of recent years and have become a Christmas tradition in Odense. Handel's Messiah is one of the most frequently played and popular works of the Baroque era and has in most people's minds become a Christmas classic. The most powerful story of all, set to the most powerful music, full of changing tempi and expressions, heartfelt arias and heaven-reaching choruses with jubilant trills and majestic splendour. Tickets: Adults 175 kr., students 100 kr., children under 12 free. Ticket sales open two weeks before each concert, via Ticketmaster.dk. Programme: Handel / Messiah
