Händel's Messiah: Sing Along!
Dirigent: Filipe Carvalheiro
,Kammerkoret Musica
,Kammerorkesteret Musica
Description
Conductor Filipe Carvalheiro, Kammerkoret Musica and Kammerorkesteret Musica The concert will alternate between choruses sung by Kammerkoret Musica alone and choruses sung together with the audience. The solo parts are sung by professional singers. As a singing audience member you choose whether you want to sit with others from your voice group, or in the shared section (if, for example, there are several of you from different voice groups who would like to sit together). There will also be a section for "ordinary" audience members who do not wish to sing along. The choir's conductor Filipe will guide everyone through the course of the concert, and there will be "helpers" present among the audience who can give information about what to sing along to and what is happening during the concert. It is of course always voluntary whether you want to sing along! You can easily settle for singing along only in the "Hallelujah" chorus. We invite the audience to stand up when we sing the shared choruses. How can I prepare? There are several ways to prepare for the concert: Before the concerts Musica invites you to an open choir rehearsal, where we will go through the movements the audience sings along to, together with the choir's conductor and a pianist. Everyone is welcome to take part. It is not necessary to sign up in advance. On the concert days the audience will have the opportunity to meet three quarters of an hour beforehand for an open choir rehearsal, where the most important movements are sung through, together with a pianist and members of the choir. Here you can warm up your voice and sing through the Hallelujah chorus divided among the four voices (soprano, alto, tenor and bass). Meeting time for the sing-through and warm-up in Køge Kirke - Sct Nicolai: At 15.15 Open choir rehearsal for everyone: Monday 7 December 19-22 in Hans Tausens kirke, entrance from Halfdansgade. You can find free sheet music and practice files on the choir's website. Who is the concert for? It is possible to take part in "Sing Along Messiah" at all levels. Perhaps you are an experienced choir singer who has sung the work before and would like to sing it again? Perhaps you are a whole choir that would like to take part? Perhaps you have heard "Messiah" performed many times and dream of singing along to some of the movements yourself? Perhaps you have never sung in a choir and cannot read music, but think it sounds fun to sing along to the "Hallelujah" chorus with an orchestra? And perhaps you do not want to sing along at all, but just get into the Christmas spirit by listening to a fun, informal and fine version of the well-known work? Everyone is welcome! Families with children too. What about sheet music? When you buy a ticket you can add a printed booklet of the relevant movements, which you will be handed at the entrance. If you need to look at the music before the concert, you can download it for free below (and on Billetto's page). At the concert itself there will be a QR code in the programme, where you can download the music if you prefer to read it on your phone or iPad. You are also very welcome to bring your own copy. Can you do anything wrong? Sing Along Messiah is an informal and playful concept, where participation, fellowship and joy in music are the focus. This means that all participants must be prepared that it cannot be a "perfect" performance. So no, you cannot do anything wrong. However, there are many movements that are sung by Kammerkoret Musica and professional soloists, so the performance is also a "normal" concert experience, where the audience can simply lean back and enjoy the music. There is an admission charge for the concert. Tickets can be bought at 'Billetto' from 1 June 2026 Price: Ticket sales via Billetto open around 1 June 2026
