Farewell concert for organist Lars Sømod Jensen

After 25 years as organist at Vor Frelsers Kirke, Lars Sømod Jensen is stepping down from his post. Through his intense and wide-ranging work at the church, Lars has tirelessly insisted on the highest musical quality. This has shown itself in his work as concert organist, carillonneur, choir director, composer and arranger. And above all it has shown itself at the countless high masses and church services at which Lars has played, where his strong liturgical sense, together with his great musical energy, has created the most beautiful setting for every service. His departure will leave a great gap musically, collegially and personally. Lars Sømod's departure is marked with an organ concert on Sunday 3 January 2027 at 15 in Vor Frelsers Kirke, where Lars performs Olivier Messiaen's La Nativité du Seigneur. The concert is a farewell concert and at the same time a 25th anniversary concert. After the concert there will be a reception in the church. Free admission.
