The Princess and the Pea - a PixiBallet
Femke Mølbach Slot (Prinsesser)
,Mads Blangstrup (Prinsen)
,Morten Eggert (Dirigent/Dronning)
Description
H.C. Andersen's classic fairy tale in a fun and beautiful PixiBallet for the very youngest. The prince sets out on a long journey in his search for the one true princess, but it is not easy to find a princess with genuine feelings who dares to be herself. He has to meet no fewer than three very strange princesses before there is suddenly a knock at the door of his own castle. The Princess and the Pea is a poetic fairy tale which in this PixiBallet is told through dance and movement, entirely without words. The performance invites children and their grown-ups into a baroque fairy-tale world full of powder, wigs and a mysterious conductor who may have a hand in the proceedings. In the Royal Danish Theatre's PixiForestillinger, the youngest members of the family can enjoy a fun and informal introduction to the theatre's classical art forms: opera, drama, ballet and concert. PixiBallet is a ballet in miniature, created and told for children solely through dance and movement, set to musical excerpts from well-known ballet productions. The Princess and the Pea is danced to music from, among others, the classical ballets Swan Lake and The Nutcracker by Pyotr Tchaikovsky. Give children their - perhaps - first encounter with the ballet genre in this delightful performance for the little ones. Recommended from age 4
