Janne Fredens and Søren Rastogi

Description

Janne Fredens, cello - Søren Rastogi, piano. In 2024 the two highly regarded Danish artists released an album of works by women composers from the period around the First World War. It was enthusiastically received both in Denmark and abroad. At the concert the duo will present some of these works. The audience gains insight into the exciting time in which the works were written, and what it was like to be a woman composer. The musicians introduce the works and tell of the composers' - often very turbulent - life stories. Janne Fredens is one of Denmark's most distinctive chamber musicians. She takes part in various ensembles, but it is especially as a member of the prize-winning Jalina Trio that she has earned great international recognition. She is principal cellist of Randers Kammerensemble and teaches at the conservatoire in Aarhus. Janne Fredens is an interested and curious artist with a fondness for exploring new material. Søren Rastogi is one of Denmark's most versatile and acclaimed concert pianists. He has been a soloist with the DR Radiosymfoniorkestret and the vast majority of Denmark's other symphony orchestras, but he is best known as an accompanist for both singers and instrumentalists. Søren Rastogi is an associate professor at Det jyske Musikkonservatorium and has given masterclasses in Europe, the USA and China. Programme: Leokadiya Kashperova, Henriette Bosmans, Nadia and Lili Boulanger.
