Description
In spring 2027, audiences can experience Alberte Winding in a new concert format when she goes on tour with Danmarks Underholdningsorkester. Her songs unfold in symphonic settings, where both the familiar classics and more recent works are given new life. For Alberte Winding, the idea of working with a large orchestra has long been smouldering away: “I've thought for many years that it could be quite wonderful to hear my songs with strings and wind instruments. So it feels a bit like something I've been dreaming of for a long time is finally happening. The old songs gain a new depth, and the new ones have in a way been conceived in that direction all along,” she says. For more than four decades, Alberte Winding has been a regular part of Danish life. From the early years in children's television to an extensive career as a songwriter and musician. Her songs move effortlessly between the simple and the reflective, and often revolve around relationships, everyday life and the big emotions that lie just beneath the surface. At Danmarks Underholdningsorkester, the enthusiasm for the collaboration is plain to see: “Alberte Winding is one of those artists whose songs already hold a special poetry and closeness, and many Danes have a personal relationship with them. She has a gift for writing herself into our lives across generations, and it is precisely that space we look forward to stepping into together with her and the audience,” says John Frandsen, director of Danmarks Underholdningsorkester. The concerts will take audiences through Alberte's entire catalogue. From children's songs to pop classics and more recent collaborations. A repertoire that reflects a life lived in music, and that reaches several generations at once. Songs such as Lyse nætter will naturally find their way into the concert and are among those Alberte most looks forward to unfolding within the orchestra's setting: “That song has been allowed to mean something to so many people. I'm looking forward to unfolding it even more with the orchestra. It feels as though it deserves it,” says Alberte. For Alberte Winding, the concerts are ultimately about meeting the audience. The moment when the songs find their place: “It is unmagical until it meets its audience,” she says. And it is precisely in the concert hall that what she herself seeks in music arises. A shared space where both memories and new experiences are allowed to exist side by side: “I hope the audience leaves the hall with a feeling of light and warmth. That the music is allowed to speak a little more than I do,” says Alberte Winding.
