Concert with Absalon String Quartet

Description

Absalon String Quartet visits Askov Højskole with a programme centred on Beethoven's String Quartet, Op. 127, the first work in the series of his late quartets, which today are counted among the highlights of the entire chamber music repertoire. The work opens the door to Beethoven's final artistic universe, where the classical framework is challenged and the expression becomes freer and more personal. Absalon String Quartet is a young Nordic string quartet with members from Denmark, Sweden and Norway, based in Copenhagen. They won the Rued Langgaard Competition in 2021 and DR's Chamber Music Competition in 2023, and received the Léonie Sonning Talent Prize. In 2025 they won 2nd prize and the audience prize at the Trondheim International Chamber Music Competition. Alongside Beethoven's Op. 127, the quartet plays another work of their own choosing. Price: 150 kr. Programme: Ludwig van Beethoven / String Quartet, Op. 127
