NJORD Festival New Nordic Music & Arts
29. jan. - 31. jan.
København
NJORD is the name of a Nordic god particularly associated with the sea and the wind. The seas and the winds connect people and connect the different Nordic countries. NJORD Festival builds on these connections and puts a sharp focus on some of the many shared values we have in the Nordic region.
With NJORD Festival we want to
- create new Nordic collaborations around interdisciplinary projects
- create events that a broad, culturally curious audience can see themselves in
- contribute to communicating the new art music to both adults and children
Every other year NJORD Festival presents one or more acclaimed Nordic artists as headliner(s). In light of this year's theme we go exploring the relationship between music, visual art and poetry through concerts, seminars and lectures.
NJORD was founded in 2014 by Hélène Navasse, Hans Peter Stubbe Teglbjærg and Ingeborg Okkels and Jane Schwarz. NJORD is run as an association and is currently funded from project to project.
NJORD takes place on 29 - 31 Jan 2021.
