Dear Audience ! CANCELLATION OF THE 2020 FESTIVAL After the cancellation of this year's festival it has been very hard to get used to the thought of a completely empty Gjethus this July. For 28 years the beautiful cultural centre has been the setting for the festival's very varied and exciting summer experiences, and been an important part of the flourishing Danish musical life. The present involuntary pause or curtailment of live-music activities in these times reminds us all how important - and habit-forming – these experiences are. All the more do we look forward to holding the festival's 29th season in 2021, and we hope you will be tempted by the coming offerings. We have come so far in our new planning that we can now tell you that next year we present 16 concerts from 5 - 26 July. We have succeeded in rescheduling quite a few of the lost projects from this year's cancelled festival, and can also offer a reunion with a couple of the foreign top names – the British cellist Natalie Clein and the French pianist Lise de la Salle - who over the years have been very fond of the audience and the atmosphere at Gjethuset. The performers at the 2021 festival are as follows: 5/7: Andreas Brantelid, cello/ Benjamin Schmied, violin/Christian Ihle Hadland, piano 8/7: Arild Kvartetten with Andreas Brantelid 9/7: Selene Munoz with trio 10/7: Sitkovetsky Piano trio with Maxim Rysanov, viola 11/7: Bjarke Mogensen, accordion and Johan Bridger, percussion 12/7: Doric String Quartet 15/7: Johan Dalene, violin and Julien Quentin, piano 16/7: Carl Nielsen Kvintetten 17/7: DUEN and Morten Ryelund
