Here four operas are fused into one story about friendship and power, and what happens when power ends up in the wrong hands. The Ring offers 7-12 year-olds and their families a fairytale first experience of Wagner's classic masterpiece. The production is created by Det Lille Teater and Copenhagen Opera Festival and co-produced by Den Jyske Opera. Plot: In the beginning of all things, Erda creates the world - including the enchanted Rhinegold. One day the black elf Alberich discovers the gold in a river. He steals it and forges it into a ring that gives him all the power in the world. The valkyrie Brünnhilde wants the gold back so that everything can be well again. She meets the boy Siegfried, and together they go to Valhalla and ask Brünnhilde's father, the god Wotan, for advice. When Wotan hears of the ring's power, he becomes power-hungry and decides to steal it himself. In the end Brünnhilde brings the ring back to the river, where it belongs. Target group: 7-12 year-olds.
