The third round of "Baroktoberfest" - Camerata Øresund's bubbling baroque music festival - is ready to be served on 29-30 October 2021. As in the last two years, the festival takes place in KoncertKirken and offers four concerts over two days. Whether you have a weakness for Bach, intimate chamber music, a baroque string band or wild folk music - Baroktoberfest has it all! This year the young mezzo-soprano Laura Meyer visits the opening concert, and the following day there is a visit from Slovakia by the two exciting and charismatic baroque and folk musicians Milos Valent on violin and Jan Roykta on cimbalom. During and between the concerts you can quench your thirst at the bar, a beer or water is included in the price - and should hunger strike, we offer pretzels and Bierwurst in the best Oktoberfest style.. Programme: Friday 29 October at 19.00-20.00 Soloist: Laura Mayer - mezzo-soprano Opening concert “A Life with Bach” A portrait of Bach's life seen through the eyes of his wife, Anna Magdalena. We focus on the singer, music lover and copyist Anna Magdalena - a woman who undoubtedly played an important role in the life of J. S. Bach. The great talent Laura Meyer - mezzo-soprano - takes on the role of Anna Magdalena and, through creative presentation in words, song and music, Bach's life and his music are brought to life/illustrated from his wife's perspective. Performers: Soloist mezzo-soprano Laura Meyer, Camerata Øresund Friday 29 October at 21.00 -22.00 Late night: Cameratas favourites! At this intimate late-night concert you meet the members of Camrata Øresund criss-cross as they let loose in their favourite chamber music. Performers: members of Camerata Øresund Saturday 30 October at 19.00-20.00 "Musica Globus" The charismatic Slovak violin virtuoso and baroque specialist Milos Valent visits Baroktoberfest with the programme Musica Globus. For the programme Milos has drawn inspiration from old dance and song manuscripts from Slovakia, Poland, Hungary and Turkey, as well as from Telemann's Rostock manuscripts. The works from the Rostock manuscript were composed around 1704, when Telemann held the post of court Kapellmeister in Sorau, Poland. During his many journeys in the country, Telemann experienced genuine folk music at close quarters, and this music made such a strong impression on him that he later wrote in his autobiography, among other things: “An evening with these musicians inspired me for the rest of my life!” Performers: Milos Valent violin, Jan Rokyta cimbalom, Camerata Øresund Saturday 30 October at 21.00-22.00 “Late night - Wild and Crazy from Bratislava” For Baroktoberfest's grand finale, it is fiery folk music rhythms from Europe that take over the stage. Among the invited guest artists at Baroktoberfest this year is a duo from the Slovak ensemble Solamente Naturali, consisting of Milos Valent on violin and Ján Rokyta on cimbalom. They take charge of this concert and take us on a wild and breathless musical journey to Hungary and Slovakia. The duo plays and improvises so the music sparkles together with Camerata Øresund - and the only thing we can promise is that it will not be boring! Performers: Milos Valent violin/vocals, Jan Rokyta cimbalom, Pernille Ebert Spissky fujara flute, Peter Spissky/Camerata Øresund More information at: www.camerataoresund.com
