The festival started with an electric piano and a soprano on a private terrace in Snøde in 2010. The neighbours from the street came flocking, and it quickly turned out that there was a large and interested audience here. Since then the festival has grown bigger and bigger – this applies to the number of concerts and musicians as well as the number of venues and audience members. The musicians – the festival's driving force – are mainly classical musicians trained at Syddansk Musikkonservatorium og Skuespillerskole in Esbjerg. Together with the area's local artists; poets, musicians and visual artists, it has been possible to put together a very varied programme with something for every taste. The festival has two parallel strands – one public and one private. The public part of the festival is 4 concerts in Nordlangeland churches, with a regular core of young up-and-coming musicians plus a couple of big names in classical Danish and international musical life. It has quickly turned out that the islanders are very interested in making the festival a tradition, and very willing to provide the voluntary labour needed for such an event to work. Therefore, which is quite special for this festival, the musicians, as thanks for the help, also repay with a series of private concerts indoors and outdoors in the local area. The festival takes place Thursday to Sunday in week 29 on Nordlangeland
