When Daniel Hage founded the festival in 1989, he did so in close collaboration with his friend the composer Hans Abrahamsen, who was for many years part of Oremandsgaard Kammermusikfest. It is with pride and joy that we can welcome Hans Abrahamsen “home” to Oremandsgaard as composer-in-residence in 2022, which is also the 70th anniversary of the composer's birth. Hans is today known as one of the very great contemporary composers - and is, among other things, the man behind the work "Let Me Tell You", which The Guardian has proclaimed the finest musical work of the 21st century.
This year's artistic director is also a familiar face at Oremandsgaard. We are so pleased that the pianist Marianna Shirinyan has once again said yes to gathering a team of the finest soloists from Denmark and abroad. Among others, you can experience the violinist Carolin Widmann and the cellist Torleif Thedéen, Trio con Brio and the young Danish wind quintet V Coloris. Together they perform works by both Hans Abrahamsen and classical masterpieces by Brahms, Schumann, Schubert and Mozart. There will be a children's concert in the forest, pop-up concerts at the farmers' market/distillery – and the young Danish composer Lil Lacy is writing a new work to be premiered in the Husflidsskolen under the green canopy of the deciduous trees. There is so much good to come. See you there.
