BAROKTOBERFEST
Baroque music - fresh from the barrel!
For the fourth time, the baroque ensemble Camerata Øresund opens its doors to Baroktoberfest - a bubbling baroque music festival taking place in KoncertKirken, Copenhagen, on 28-29 October 2022.
The festival offers 4 concerts over two days, where a lovely mixture of baroque music and folk music, instrumental and vocal music, is served in the best possible way.
We can guarantee a wide range of exciting musical impressions: A dive into London's 1700s music scene with the fantastic tenor Martin Vanberg as soloist. A sound world of plucked instruments in rarely heard harpsichord and lute concertos. A musical breathing space with the sounds of Bach and, last but not least, a folk music party with the Swedish duo LISAS.
During and between the concerts you can quench your thirst at the bar - and should hunger strike, we offer Pretzels and Bierwurst in the best Oktoberfest style.
We hope you will celebrate the autumn with us under the sign of baroque music!

Friday 28 October
19.00- 20.00 Opening concert: Welcome to all the pleasures.
Soloist: Martin Vanberg - tenor
It will be a baroque pleasure of a special kind when the star tenor Martin Vanberg takes us to 16th- and 17th-century England, where the joys and sorrows of life are expressed in music by Dowland, Purcell and Händel. All emotions come into play as we travel through the music between castles, churches and inns and make the acquaintance of passionate lovers, inspiring muses and drunken sailors, who simply refuse to let us leave before last orders at the bar!

20:30 - 21:30 Late Night with LISAS
The first evening of Baroktoberfest closes with a visit from the fantastic Swedish duo, Lisas. Lisas experiment with music on the border between baroque, tango, folk music, and with this unique cocktail we guarantee a good taste experience!
Together with Camerata Øresund, Lisas lead us through a programme where genres are secondary and the only thing that matters is the joy of the music!

Saturday 29 October
19.00-20.00 Knipset og strøget!
With the programme Knipset og strøget, Camerata Øresund pays tribute to the baroque's popular genre of virtuoso concertos for solo instrument and orchestra. Harpsichordist Marcus Mohlin and lutenist Dohyo Sol - Camerata Øresund's indispensable continuo players - get a completely new role when they take turns stepping forward as soloists and showing off their instruments in concertos by J.S.Bach, Vilhelmina von Bayreuth and J.Fasch.. As a counterweight to the plucked strings of the harpsichord and the lute, the violinists get to sing with their bows in a concerto for 2 violins by Christoph Graupner. In the end the orchestra is united in a bang of a Concerto Grosso by the master Corelli.

Soloists: Marcus Mohlin- harpsichord and Dohoy Sol- lute
20:30- 21:30 Captivated by Bach
For Baroktoberfest's closing concert, Camerata Øresund leads us through a labyrinth of themes and fugues as they throw themselves into an excerpt of Bach's unfinished masterpiece, The Art of Fugue. The work consists of as many as 14 fugues and 4 canons built on just a single theme, which is turned and twisted in countless versions. The work shows Bach's love of counterpoint and his unique genius. Bach did not manage to finish the piece before his death and left the last fugue unfinished, which has given rise to enigmatic speculation.
The audience is led into an almost meditative state when Camerata Øresund, in different instrumental combinations, gives its take on this unique masterpiece.
We hope to see you on the other side of Bach's fantastical labyrinth of themes!
