Pergolesi: Stabat Mater
Stabat Mater was the last work that the Italian composer Giovanni Battista Pergolesi completed, just a few weeks before his death.
This moving piece of music is built around the text Stabat mater dolorosa and depicts the pain of the Virgin Mary as she mourns her son at the foot of the cross.
The two soloists are:
Soprano: Anna Wierød
Alto: Nanna Varmer Ipsen
They are accompanied by Odense Barokensemble under the direction of Babett Hartmann
Friday 31 March at 15 Fredens Kirke, Svendborg, free admission
Sunday 2 April at 15 Lundehus Kirke, Copenhagen Ø, free admission
Wednesday 5 April at 17 in Dalum Kirke, Odense, admission 50kr, children under 12 free
