Frederiksberg
For Frederiksberg Festspil 2023 the theme will be Home.
The place where we belong, where we are private and safe, from which we long to get away or to which we long to return.
We will investigate how the sense of belonging - or the longing for home - has been and is expressed in art, music and language. We invite writers, musicians and theatre people to offer their take on this year's theme.
Once again we ally ourselves with some of our favourites who live here - in fact many of them are resident in Frederiksberg.
This applies to artists such as
Michala Petri,
Cæcilie Norby,
Katrine Wiedemann,
Bjarke Mogensen,
Nikolaj Hess, to mention just a few.
We are working together with the singer and composer Nanna Ohland, who in her contribution lets home be glimpsed through the eyes of the fugitive.
We invite writers and philosophers into conversation with one another, challenging us on what our home is and what and whom it should hold.
Our dream is - to an even greater extent than last year - to let different rooms, or simply homes, form the stage for the various events and concerts during the festival week. And, by continuing to let the different genres, theatre and concert forms meet in new combinations, to let the genres mirror one another and invite new and different artistic experiences.
