Kolding
Kolding i Toner is a three-day award-winning music festival, which was held for the first time in Kolding in 2021. In April 2022 the festival won Kolding Kommune's Culture Prize 'Årets Kulturelle Highfive'.
The festival's purpose is to spread the joy of music and in particular classical music to a larger and more varied audience.
Our focus is on classical music of a high artistic level, but we also have jazz concerts on the programme.
At the festival you can experience both classical concerts in the traditional sense and more unconventional productions with, among other things, acting and drawing.
The whole festival is organised by two friends, Mathilde Qvist and Anne Skærbæk, who are musicians themselves. The idea sprang up when Denmark in 2021 was slowly beginning to open up again after the second lockdown during corona. As musicians they were impatient to get out and play, and they wanted to create a festival in Kolding, where classical music has not had much focus until now.
That became the building block for Kolding i Toner, and the festival has been a great success ever since. In 2024 Mathilde has moved to the Netherlands, but Anne is carrying the festival on, and we look forward to welcoming you to Kolding i Toner 2024, which will be even bigger than before!
