Welcome to Nyborg Slotskoncerter 2022
A string of pearls of splendid concerts!
This summer Nyborg Slotskoncerter opens its doors to 6 varied concerts of a high artistic standard. True to tradition, we will be listening to a series of outstanding musicians this year.
The season begins on 26 June, when we are visited by the world-famous duo Petri/ Hannibal. The two outstanding musicians, Michala Petri and Lars Hannibal, can celebrate their 30th anniversary this year, and we look forward to being part of celebrating them.
On Sunday 17 July the piano takes centre stage. The two sparkling piano virtuosos Tanja Zapolski and Rikke Sandberg, who make up Den danske Klaverduo, will play four hands on Nyborg Slotskoncerter's fine Fazioli grand piano. We will hear Brahms and Carl Nielsen, among others. Two weeks later, on 31 July, opera, operetta and musical delicacies are served with the soprano Sibylle Glosted and the baritone Joachim Knop. As usual, the pianist Jacob Beck will guide us through the programme.
The season's string quartets are played this year by the very accomplished Nightingale String Quartet. They play, among other things, Smetana's String Quartet No. 1. The concert takes place on 14 August. And then we offer a reunion with the young violin talent Justina Maria la Cour, who visited us last year together with the pianist Anna Marie Lipsonen. Justina's talent is impressive, and we look forward to a splendid reunion with them both on 21 August.
The season is rounded off with seductive folk music when Svøbsk Kvartet takes the stage for the season's closing concert on 28 August.
The world is full of change, and so is our concert series this year. The concerts are spread more widely across the summer this year, and the concert time has for most concerts been moved to 16.00. We hope that you, our audience, will welcome the new initiatives. Now the lovely music can spread across the whole summer, and you can get home and enjoy the light summer evenings.
We are also introducing a youth ticket aimed at audiences under 25. We hope that young people will seize the chance and become acquainted with what can become a lifelong passion – world-class live music.
Nyborg Slotskoncerter would like to say a big thank you to Nyborg Kirke and to Hotel Nyborg Strand for once again this year collaborating with us on our concerts. It means a great deal to us that we can continue the tradition of the fine summer concerts until we can one day return to the beautiful surroundings of Nyborg Slot.
