Nykøbing Katedralskole

Nykøbing Katedralskole is an upper secondary school in Nykøbing Falster. It was established in 1498, and thus has a history of over five hundred years as one of the country's oldest Latin schools. Dowager Queen Sophie issued the school's charter in 1535. Nykøbing Falster is the only town with a cathedral school without a cathedral. This is due to historical circumstances, which also placed the bishop's seat in Nykøbing Falster, while the cathedral is in Maribo.
