It was consecrated in 1914 by Bishop von Euch. In 1940 it was partly destroyed by fire, but was later repaired. The church is also the school church of Sankt Josefs skole, and there is a Catholic hospital on the other side of the road. It is thus a small Catholic quarter in Roskilde. The parish priest is Marcos Romero Bernús.
