Skt. Nikolai Kirke

Sankt Nikolai Kirke in Holbæk is the parish church of Sankt Nikolai Parish in Holbæk Municipality. The church was built in 1868-72 of red monastery brick on a granite plinth. The church was built in the Neo-Romanesque style with a north-facing tower, which faces Holbæk's main street. The church's main entrance is to the north through the tower. The church was built on the same site where Klosterkirken, Sct. Lucius, formerly stood. While the monastery church, however, lay in the traditional position with a west-facing tower, the newly built church was turned so that the tower faced north, presumably to give a more desirable access from Ahlgade.
