For the fifth year in a row, Kulturelt Initiativ is hosting Høstfestival, featuring three wonderful concerts by two of Norway’s top ensembles—promising a fantastic weekend in October!

The Engegård Quartet will take us on a first-class musical journey, starting with Mozart in 1785 and ending with Anderson in 2024, in two concerts at the Green Hall in Park Hotel. Additionally, you now have a unique opportunity to experience music by Karlheinz Stockhausen.
The Engegård Quartet saw the light of day/night under the midnight sun in Lofoten in 2005 and is today one of the country's most sought-after ensembles. They have toured in South America and several countries in Europe. Among other things, they have given concerts in Mozart's birthplace, Salzburg - and therefore the Autumn Festival 2024 starts with his String Quartet in C major KV 465, the Dissonance Quartet.
In May this year, the quartet premiered Julian Anderson's Ice Quartet in the Brucknerhaus in Linz, Austria, and gave the Norwegian premiere of the piece in Bodø - which is one of this year's European cities of culture. The concert ends in sweeping fashion with the String Quartet in E minor, opus 44 no. 2 by Felix Mendelssohn.
Join the six singers of Nordic Voices for a meditative exploration of the note B around a light source at the Harmonie Arena. You're guaranteed to get into the right "Stimmung"!
The Engegård Quartet’s second concert on the 12th of October opens with one of Beethoven’s great quartets – the Harp Quartet, Op. 74 – and concludes with music by Fanny Mendelssohn, sister of Felix. Fanny was both an outstanding pianist and composer, and her String Quartet in E-flat major promises to be an exciting new discovery for us.
