Hi! My name is Nicole Hogstrand and I’m a cellist, composer and producer in the progressive string quartet @halvcirkel, the improvising and composing string ensemble @crushstringcollective and the musical collective @damkapellet - all based in Copenhagen. Halvcirkel: Statens museum for Kunst
Welcome to a slightly different concert experience, where the string quartet Halvcirkel interprets the painting L'Atelier Rouge by Henri Matisse. Through improvisation, circular patterns and minimalism, they playfully unfold a soundscape that moves between dream and reality. The performance of Portrait of a Space takes place four times, each with 15 min intervals. Concert is free with the Museum ticket.

Damkapellet: Demiurge / Koncertkirken
Damkapellet is a group of musicians and composers that always serve something heartfelt and handmade, playing around with new constellations and improvisational elements. In February they released their debut album Demiurge and @koncertikirken and @vinterjazz will host their festive release concert this evening! You can be sure to expect a cheerful mood and beautiful newly composed music by @lokrits, @gretaeacottcomposer, @kirstinelindemann, and @randipontoppidan.

I’ve been working closely with composer Signe Lykke on various projects and her music is as always hauntingly beautiful. In the world premiere of Crux, for solo violin and string orchestra the act of creating in togetherness is in the center.

Ensemble Hermes: The Fruit of Silence / Literaturhaus
I’ve never heard @ensemblehermes play live before, but I’m very curious about their work! The string ensemble creates an immersive concert experience, for creating a moment of peace and beauty by involving light design in the room. They perform a couple of meditative and atmospheric pieces by some of my favourite composers.
