Fauré's Requiem with Kammerkoret Bocca

Description

All Saints' Day is a fine occasion to light candles and remember those who have passed away. The main work of this concert is Requiem - a mass for the dead - by the French composer Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924). Where other composers in their requiems have written dramatic music to describe the day of judgement, Fauré has chosen to focus on consolation and eternal rest. With Fauré's beautiful melodies and sonorities one can find calm and time for reflection. The work consists of 7 movements and is performed here in a chamber version for choir, organ, violin and cello. Ahead of the main work, the choir and musicians perform a varied programme with music by, among others, Henry Purcell and Josef Gabriel Rheinberger, but also more recent composers such as Eric Whitacre and Jake Runestad. Fauré's Requiem is a collaborative project between Kammerkoret Bocca, conductor Ive Buch Romme, organist Arnfinn Tobiassen and Munor. From Munorensemblet, Almuth Chylek (violin) and Tobias Tellmann (cello) take part. Programme: Gabriel Fauré / Requiem
