As chief conductor of Kristiansand Symfoniorkester from 2001 to 2006 and the initiator of the New Year's Concert, he created traditions that still bring audiences together. He was a clear advocate of both new and forgotten Norwegian music, and he was passionate about bringing forward composers who deserve a larger place in the public eye. In this concert we honour his memory with a programme marked by accessible and atmospheric music in his spirit. The cellist Sandra Lied Haga is the evening's soloist, known for her many national and international competition wins and for her early debut at Wigmore Hall in London at the age of 12.
