Conductor: Bjarni Frimann Composer and soloist: Ola Kvernberg, violin Soloist: Ragnhild Hemsing, violin Band: Ole Morten Vågan, double bass Erik Nylander, percussion Einojuhani Rautavaara: The Fiddlers, Op. 1 (1952) Ola Kvernberg: Deriva perpetua (2026) John Adams: Tromba lontana (1986) Igor Stravinsky: Symphony in Three Movements (1942–1945) This concert is driven by pulse, colour and joy in storytelling. There will be Nordic folk-music-inspired energy from Rautavaara and newly composed music by Kvernberg, performed by the composer himself together with the orchestra and Ragnhild Hemsing. We then hear a hushed, spacious fanfare by Adams that opens the ear and the room, before the evening finally explodes in a symphony with razor-sharp rhythm.
