Ohoy all concertgoers! August is here to give you his recommendations!
Hi everyone! My name is August Finkas and I am principal clarinettist in Copenhagen Phil. I love playing in an orchestra and I love the clarinet. Playing in an orchestra gives me a sense of team spirit where we create something far greater than one can create on one's own. The aspect of chamber music and creating sounds, chords and nuances becomes even better when you have such lovely colleagues as I am lucky enough to have đ
The reason I love the clarinet so much is... well, who doesn't like the clarinet? How can you not love it!? The beautiful, tender, voice-like sound, the flexibility - yes, I could go on for a long time.
đ„ 12 May, at 19.30 DR Koncerthuset - Mozart Clarinet Concerto.
That evening Danmarks Radio plays Prokofiev's Symphony No. 6 and Mozart's Clarinet Concerto with its own principal clarinettist, Johnny Teyssier, as soloist. Johnny's natural way of playing and his ease are something you really do not want to miss! He is an incredible clarinettist, and I am sure he will make Mozart's Clarinet Concerto even better! Be there - I will be! đ
Another concert you really do not want to miss is this one:
đ„ 27 August, at 17.00 Tivolis Koncertsal - Copland Clarinet Concerto with Martin Fröst.
Copenhagen Phil plays Mendelssohn's Symphony No. 3 and Copland's fantastic and jazzy Clarinet Concerto! Martin Fröst will both conduct and play as soloist in this concert. I do not think Martin Fröst needs any further introduction. In short, he is the Lionel Messi of clarinettists đ„ I will be playing in this concert myself and I look forward to seeing you there! I hope you will enjoy it as much as I will!
