The Mysteries of Film Music - Family Concert

Description

Join us on a magical journey into the world of film, and listen to – and hear about – the biggest film hits, as Aalborg Symfoniorkester and the music communicator and DR radio host Ole B. Kiilerich dive into what he calls the mysteries of film music. What is it that music does to us when we watch a film? Why does something become extra spooky – or why do we at other times get an irrepressible urge to laugh or cry? Does the inner film run behind our eyes when the theme from The Good the Bad and the Ugly plays? We will also hear music from the film UP, from Pirates of The Caribbean, How To Train Your Dragon and Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark. With his usual enthusiasm, Ole Kiilerich rips the music open from the inside and this time demands answers from the composers as to why we get goosebumps when we hear the first chord of Star Wars, and why the music from the Harry Potter films can both conjure up a whole universe and make us believe that we ourselves can make things lift off the ground with a simple spell. Come right into the engine room of film music as together we let ourselves be enchanted by the biggest hits from the best films – and perhaps become a little wiser along the way. In terms of outreach, this is an event for children aged 7 and up, but adult film enthusiasts are also very welcome without children.
