Classical Concert: Lara Biancalana and Benjamin Skydsgaard

Description

Through Gabriel Fauré's lyrical and intimate mood, Nadia Boulanger's mysterious and veiled musical language and Sergei Rachmaninoff's grandiose Romanticism, we travel far across the musical landscape. The programme is centred on Rachmaninoff's cello sonata, a favourite piece for both musicians and a monumental work in itself. In addition, Boulanger's three pieces for cello and piano represent a strong contrast with their mysterious and veiled expression, while Fauré's Sicilienne invites our ears into a warm and intimate parlour. Lara and Benjamin both study in the soloist class at Det Kongelige Danske Musikkonservatorium and are both looking forward to sharing the music with you! The concert is part of Tårnby Musikuge 2026, which takes place from 24 October to 1 November. A collaboration between music societies, churches and cultural institutions in Tårnby.
