Piano concert with Jesper René
Jesper René, klaver
Description
Thursday 29 October at 19.00 in Dalum Kirke Free admission This evening we will open the old church doors of Dalum Kirke to an atmospheric piano evening, where the pianist Jesper René will interpret Claude Debussy's enchanting Préludes. These imaginative miniatures came into being in the years leading up to the First World War and explore every conceivable aspect of the piano's possibilities. With poetic sensibility and refined nuances of sound, Debussy paints musical pictures of nature, people and imaginative scenarios. The Préludes unfold as a series of miniature tales, in which shifting moods, delicate harmonies and impressionistic tone colours create an alluring and dreamlike atmosphere. In the church's beautiful space, Jesper René will lead the audience into Debussy's unique musical universe and let the works' subtle expression and tonal richness come into full bloom About Jesper René: The pianist Jesper René is one of the busiest Danish pianists of his generation. He is especially known for playing Bach's keyboard music everywhere in the Danish Realm - from Gedser to Greenland and from Flensburg to the Faroe Islands - but his repertoire is large and versatile. Thus it stretches from Beethoven and Brahms to Schubert and Chopin - and at present he is travelling with Debussy's twenty-four preludes, which we have the pleasure of hearing this evening. This concert is number one of two – At the start of 2027 we will again have the pleasure of Jesper René's beautiful interpretations in the church space – this time with other exciting composers on the programme.
