A powerful artistic couple in a new light at a poetic concert with the poet and author Jesper Lützhøft and the pianist Kristine Thorup. Carl Nielsen and Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen had a stormy marriage, but in their artistic work they achieved an impressive and sincere unity. She developed into a successful sculptor, and him we have known and loved for many years as a composer. The composer Mogens Christensen has taken 12 of Carl Nielsen's small piano pieces and recomposed them by drawing in his work on a specific sculpture by Anne Marie Carl-Nielsen as direct inspiration. The poet Jesper Lützhøft has written a series of texts that let the married couple have a thought-provoking conversation with each other about their art. The photographer Suste Bonnén and the video artist Jacob Nielsen provide the visual side of the concert. It is all held together by the pianist Kristine Thorup, who plays both Carl Nielsen's own pieces and Mogens Christensen's mirror images of them. As a bonus, Kristine Thorup has found some relatively unknown piano pieces by Carl Nielsen - among them a bridal waltz he is said to have composed at the age of 13. The concert - titled Carl Nielsen OG Carl-Nielsen - is created to put the spotlight on their art from a contemporary perspective: a sensuous and entertaining journey through music, poetry and visual art.
