Dalum Church is a church in Dalum parish in Odense Municipality. The church was erected in the river valley near the west bank of Odense Å. It was presumably conceived from the start as the northern wing of a four-winged Benedictine convent that was to replace the older complex at Nonnebakken. The move to Dalum was certainly completed by 1249, but presumably already at the beginning of the century. Thus a letter of privilege is known from January 1193, in which the convent received its rules of order and sacred vessels from the Benedictine monks of Skt. Knuds Kloster, from which the prioress also came. The convent was dedicated to Our Lady (mentioned 1464). Source: Wikipedia (Dalum Kirke)
