Transformations - Rilke in memoriam

Description

Celebrated by the intellectuals - and viral on TikTok! The poet Rainer Maria Rilke died 100 years ago, and Rudersdal Kammersolister remember the master for his atmospheric and moving poetry with music by Gustav Mahler, Ejnar Kanding and the French composer Jean Huré (1877-1930). The actor Thomas Bang reads from the poems that have enthralled the literary public through generations, but in recent years have also gone viral on TikTok. Many young social media profiles have been gripped by the words, which give language to feelings one cannot express oneself. Gustav Mahler's dark but lyrical universe suits the mood perfectly, and the Danish composer Ejnar Kanding has for many years circled around Rilke in particular in his works. Jean Huré is unknown to most, and one cannot readily find documentation that his music has ever been performed in Denmark at all. That is a shame, for it is incredibly beautiful and imaginative music that can remind one a little of Franck, Chausson and the early Debussy. In his Sérénade for piano trio he wrote small poetic texts himself, which, like Rilke's poetry, connect human beings with nature.
