Rudersdal Kammersolister was formed in 2018 at the invitation of the world-famous American-Russian composer and pianist Lera Auerbach. She visited the festival Rudersdal Sommerkoncerter in 2017 and saw that a flexible ensemble of dedicated chamber musicians could lift the festival. Already the following year Rudersdal Kammersolister was a reality, and the ensemble had the opportunity to collaborate with the legendary composer Giya Kancheli, who stated: "Rudersdal Chamber Players is an outstanding ensemble. All members are first class instrumentalists with a responsive attitude and a deep understanding of the musical material. This is the chamber music making at very high level." Rudersdal Kammersolister has a piano quartet as its base, but several musicians are affiliated, and they perform in many different constellations: string trio, piano trio, flute quartet, clarinet quintet, piano quintet etc. This opens up a very broad repertoire, and the ensemble can adapt to many different places, large and small, with and without a grand piano. The repertoire covers a wide range of the great classics: Mozart, Brahms, Schumann and Dvorak and others, as well as both less often heard works and new music. Rudersdal Kammersolister has given the first performance of several works written for the ensemble by composers from the USA, Russia, Denmark and Sweden. The ensemble regularly works on interdisciplinary projects and themed concerts in which the music is combined with other art forms and science. Collaborators include the visual artist Simone Aaberg Kærn, the astrophysicist Christoffer Karoff and the poet Ditte Steensballe. At home they have performed at Golden Days Festival, Sorø Internationale Musikfestival, Nordisk-Russisk Musikforening, Copenhagen Art Week etc., and several of the concerts have been broadcast on DR P2. The musicians of Rudersdal Kammersolister have given chamber music and solo performance first priority in their musical careers, and they all have great international experience, just as over the years they have received a large number of prizes and distinctions.
