Wind concert with AmadeusEnsemblet

Description

Symphonic wind music AmadeusEnsemblet began its activities in 1992, when a circle of wind players from Copenhagen wished to form an ensemble for symphonic wind music. The line-up consists of two flutes, two oboes, two clarinets, basset horn, bass clarinet, two bassoons, four horns and contrabassoon or double bass, 16 musicians in all. With all these instruments the result is a very extensive sound medium with a symphonic effect. The principal work in the classical wind repertoire is Mozart's Gran Partita for 13 wind instruments. This work is the "progenitor" of later works for the same or larger line-up, so the ensemble finds it natural to adorn itself with the name AmadeusEnsemblet after Mozart's magnificent work, which remains a fixture of the ensemble's repertoire. On this occasion, works by, among others, Richard Strauss and Maurice Ravel will also be performed. Admission to the concert is free. Price: Free, no registration required.
